QUASAR 2025 is an exhibit by NU Laguna Multimedia Arts students, held at SM City Sto. Tomas. Centered on the theme “Life in Motion, Collective Vision,” the exhibit explores the idea that every individual carries a story—distinct, evolving, and interconnected with others.
Inspired by the concept of sonder, the identity reflects how personal journeys come together to form a shared human experience.
Understanding the Need
The exhibit required a visual identity that could represent multiple artists, perspectives, and mediums under one unified system.
It needed to feel expressive yet cohesive—something that captures individuality while still communicating a collective narrative.
The challenge was clear:
How do you design a single identity that represents many voices without losing clarity?
Crafting the Creative Direction
The direction was rooted in movement, energy, and connection.
Drawing from the nature of a quasar—an intense, radiant source of light—the identity positions each artist as a point of energy, contributing to a larger visual system.
The goal wasn’t just to create a logo, but a mark that feels alive—capable of extending across exhibit materials while maintaining a strong conceptual foundation.
The Challenge
One of the key challenges was balancing complexity and clarity.
The concept itself is layered—multiple stories, perspectives, and emotions—yet the identity needed to remain visually clear and recognizable.
There was also a need to maintain continuity with previous QUASAR visuals, while still evolving the identity into something more refined and meaningful.
Finding the Solution
To address this, the approach focused on simplifying the idea into core visual elements—light, form, and composition.
By translating abstract concepts into structured yet dynamic forms, the identity was able to communicate both individuality and unity without becoming overwhelming.
The result is a system that feels intentional, fluid, and interconnected.
The Design Process
Each element of the identity was built to support the overall concept:
Symbolism
The eye represents collective vision and awareness.
The spark symbolizes individual energy and creative expression.
Form & Composition
Layered shapes reflect different journeys coming together—creating a unified visual system.
Structure
Radial movement and expanding forms suggest motion, growth, and connection.
Flexibility
The identity is designed to adapt across various formats—from digital to physical exhibit materials.
The Results
The final identity captures the essence of QUASAR 2025—dynamic, expressive, and unified.
It allows multiple narratives to exist within a single system while maintaining visual clarity and cohesion.
The result feels:
Expressive yet cohesive – representing diverse voices within one identity
Dynamic and engaging – visually communicates motion and energy
Scalable and adaptable – works across exhibit applications and formats
With this identity, QUASAR 2025 is able to present itself as more than an exhibit—
but as a shared experience shaped by many individual stories.
